[3] The suburb is bounded to the east (in part) by the Coral Sea, to the south-east by Peregian Creek, to the west by Lake Weyba (26°26′21″S 153°04′27″E / 26.4392°S 153.0742°E / -26.4392; 153.0742 (Lake Weyba)) and to the north-east (in part) by Castaways Creek.
[4][5] Most of the locality is within the protected area of Noosa National Park with the remaining land use being suburban residential land in the locality's south-east.
[6] Marcus Creek flows though the suburb immediately north of the residential area and enters the Coral Sea (26°27′09″S 153°06′09″E / 26.4526°S 153.1025°E / -26.4526; 153.1025 (Marcus Creek (mouth))).
[8] Historically and currently, Marcus Beach is within the local government area of Shire of Noosa, but, between 2008 and 2013, Marcus Beach (and the rest of the Shire of Noosa) was within Sunshine Coast Region.
