Close to major shopping centers like Mayagüez Mall and Western Plaza.

The hotel has two restaurants, a large conference center, a casino, and a newly constructed river pool.

Valdes Castle was the home of a prominent Puerto Rican figure Alfonso Valdés Cobián, he was the co-founder of Cervecería India which is the largest brewery on the island and creator of Medalla Light and Malta India.

It also opened a brand new Casino which was one of the first in western Puerto Rico and was very popular amongst guests.

The hotel was then purchased by a private group and it was renamed The Mayagüez Resort and Casino.
