Michael Mingos

David Michael Patrick Mingos (born 6 August 1944) is a British chemist and academic.

[2][3][4][5][6][7] Mingos attended the Harvey Grammar School, King Edward VII School Lytham St Anne's, University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (Chemistry Department Prize 1963, BSc First Class 1965, Hon DSc 2000), and the University of Sussex (DPhil 1968,[8] and Hon DSc 2001).

In 1978, Mingos, Stephen G. Davies and Malcolm Green compiled a set of rules that summarise where nucleophilic additions will occur on pi ligands.

In 1999 Mingos was appointed Principal of St Edmund Hall, Oxford[11] and at the same time he became a visiting professor at Imperial College London.
