The Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda[2] (Spanish: Ministerio de la Vivienda y Agenda Urbana) is a department of the Government of Spain responsible for proposing and carrying out the government policy on right to housing, buildings, urban planning, land use and architecture.
This ministry existed in three different periods.
[3] The second one during the democratic period, from 2004 to 2010, when Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero announced that the Ministry of Housing would be suppressed to reduce public spending.
[4] The third period started in late 2023, when prime minister Pedro Sánchez re-established the department.
The current Housing Minister is, since 21 November 2023, Isabel Rodríguez García, who previously served as minister of Territorial Policy and Government spokesperson between 2021 and 2023.
