Nephele hespera

Nephele hespera, the crepuscular hawkmoth, is a sphingid moth described by Johan Christian Fabricius in 1775.

It is found in the tropical and subtropical forests of Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Myanmar, southern China, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Head, thorax and abdomen olive brown or green.

At the end of the cell, there are two conspicuous silvery-white spots, which may be reduced to a speck or be altogether obsolete.

The moth rests with the wings held horizontal and the tip of the abdomen slightly upturned.
