New Almelo is an unincorporated community in Norton County, Kansas, United States.

[1] The St. Joseph Catholic Church of New Almelo was constructed of the unique pisolitic "algal limestone",[2] a distinctive pink caliche that formed at the top of the Ogallala Formation.

[4] The post office was renamed New Almelo in 1880,[5][6] then discontinued in 1996.

The community is served by Norton USD 211 public school district.
