The unincorporated communities of Bear Creek Corners and Nicholson are located in the town.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 36.7 square miles (94.9 km2), all of it land.

The racial makeup of the town was 99.52% White, 0.12% Native American, 0.12% Asian, and 0.24% from two or more races.
