The Norwegian Research Centre (NORCE) is a Norwegian government-owned[1] research institute that is majority-owned by the University of Bergen.
[2][3] NORCE was founded in 2017 through the merger of several university-owned research institutes and has around 900 employees.
[4] A few other shareholders, notably including the University of Tromsø, have joined the consortium.
According to the Brønnøysund Register Centre NORCE is a government-owned limited company (Norwegian: statlig eide aksjeselskaper).
The company operates in Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Tromsø, Kristiansand, Grimstad, Alta, Bardu, and Svalbard.
