During the filming of Hari Hara Veera Mallu in late 2022, it was reported that Sujeeth had met Pawan Kalyan and narrated a script which impressed the actor.

[3] That December, Sujeeth officially announced that he would collaborate with Kalyan for his venture titled They Call Him OG after Hari Hara Veera Mallu.

[7] Later, Sujeeth began location scouting for the film with cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran and production designer A. S. Prakash at Flora Fountain in Mumbai.

[21] The film’s shoot was halted for several months due to Kalyan’s political campaign in 2024 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election.
