[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 29.6 square miles (76.7 km2), of which 29.3 square miles (75.9 km2) is land and 0.3 square mile (0.8 km2) (1.01%) is water.

At the 2000 census,[1] there were 525 people, 170 households and 131 families residing in the township.

There were 177 housing units at an average density of 6.0/sq mi (2.3/km2).

There were 170 households, of which 38.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.4% were married couples living together, 4.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.4% were non-families.
