[1] The monastery is located about one hour west of downtown Phoenix, in the rural desert and farming community of Tonopah, Arizona.
It is located within the territory of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix but is not subject to it.
They are a contemplative order of nuns in the Franciscan tradition, founded in France in 1854 by Marie Claire Bouillevaux.
The nuns have dedicated themselves to their main apostolate of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in a spirit of reparative thanksgiving.
