Palung (पालुङ्ग) is an ancient village development committee (Nepal) in Thaha Municipality in Makwanpur District in the Bagmati Province of Nepal.

At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 5,603 people living in 1,236 individual households.

In addition to electronic media, Shantipur daily newspaper and weekly newspaper Bikash Kharpatrika and Thaha Darshan are in publication.

Palung, now Thaha municipality is one of the leading education center in northern part of Makwanpur district.
