It is home to the Nursery Capital of Pennsylvania and was the site of Sunset Park, one of country music's most popular venues.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has an area of 9.6 square miles (25 km2), all land.

31.8% had children under the age of eighteen, 64.2% were married couples living together, 7.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.0% were non-families.

Pennsylvania Route 796 also passes through the middle of the township, following Jennersville Road along a north–south alignment.

Pennsylvania Route 896 follows Newark Road along a northwest–southeast alignment across the southwestern corner of the township.
