Peter Downward

Major-General Sir Peter Aldcroft Downward KCVO CB DSO DFC (10 April 1924 – 18 October 2014) was a British Army officer.

Educated at King William's College, Downward was commissioned into the South Lancashire Regiment in 1943 and served in North West Europe during the Second World War.

[1] He also took part in the Berlin Airlift in 1949 and later saw action in the Korean War.

[2] In 1953, he married Hilda Hinckley Wood; they had two sons.
