The town is part of the Deltona–Daytona Beach–Ormond Beach, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The town is heavily reliant on agriculture which mainly consists of fern growing.

The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild winters.

As of the 2020 United States census, there were 1,542 people, 435 households, and 302 families residing in the town.
