The township is drained by the North and South branches of the Kalamazoo River.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 1,931 people, 700 households, and 546 families residing in the township.

There were 769 housing units at an average density of 21.2 per square mile (8.2/km2).

17.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
