Riverside Township was organized in 1872, and named for its location on the Lac qui Parle River.
As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 301 people, 113 households, and 82 families residing in the township.
There were 113 households, out of which 30.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.3% were married couples living together, 1.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.4% were non-families.
22.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
About 9.9% of families and 11.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 10.6% of those under the age of eighteen and 9.3% of those 65 or over.
