After completion of her studies, she was hired as a lecturer for the university and remained in Hong Kong for two more years, giving birth during this time to her second daughter, Gabriella.
[3] Returning to St. Vincent, Ambrose worked for around eight years as the director of education at the Kingstown Medical College and taught as an associate professor on imaging for the clinical anatomy curricula.
[1] In 1998, she opened her own business, Caribbean Medical Imaging Center (CMIC), bringing the first CAT scan services to the island nation.
[3] She also introduced fluoroscopy, mammography and ultrasound, among other technologies and was the pioneer of teleradiology in St. Vincent, which allowed transmission of imaging for consultation with specialists in other parts of the world without having to travel.
[1] Ambrose works as a consultant with the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital and was a founding member of the Caribbean Society of Radiologists (CSR)[1] formed in 1993.
