Rose Bowl Aquatics Center

The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center opened in 1990 in the former site of the city's defunct Brookside Plunge.

The project was funded with a $4.5-million city loan and $2 million in private donations, including a crucial final $430,000 from Pasadena neighbor, Eugene Scott, who was also Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center and one of its founding directors.

[2] Collegiate men's water polo competitions have been held for many years at the aquatics center.

[3] The famous cover art to Nirvana's Nevermind album, a photo of a baby floating in a pool, was shot at the center.

[5] The Rose Bowl Aquatics swim club is home to many well-known athletes, including Jason Lezak, Emily Adamczyk, and Kevin Kuhn.
