Rose leaf rosette-associated virus is a +ssRNA[1][2] closterovirus[3][4][5][6][7][1] which causes a unique, unusually dense and small rosette leaf habit on Rosa multiflora Thunb.

[3] DNA analyses of rose samples have not previously found closteroviruses,[9][10] and thus they were previously thought to be unable to infect all Rosa,[3] making RLRAV the first known.
