[1] The land was acquired by George E. Rauscher, a businessman from Erin, Tennessee, in 1904.
[2] In 1920, the house was acquired by Judge John William Ross.
[2] After his death in 1925, the house was held in a trust owned by the Jackson Building and Savings Association.
[2] It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since January 27, 1983.
