Rowena is an unincorporated community in Wasco County, Oregon, United States.
For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined Rowena as a census-designated place (CDP).
Another source says it was named for a girl, Rowena, who had been living in the area at the time the community was founded.
The preserve is owned and managed in co-operation with Mayer State Park.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.9 km2), all land.
