Salt Creek, a tributary of the river, flows east then north through the northwestern corner of the township.
Another Saline tributary, Cedar Creek, runs north then east through the southeastern part of the township.
Fossil Creek, a tributary of the Smoky Hill River, runs east-southeast through the southwestern corner of the township.
The old alignment of U.S. Route 40, now a paved county road, runs east–west through the southwestern part of the township.
East of the city of Russell, it re-enters the township as a U.S. 40 business route, then exits to the southeast.
