Unification of the two clubs has seen as the only way for the city of Katerini to have a team in the 1st Division.

Club's performances were often impressive, as it consistently finished in the top 10 of scoreboard of the league.

Pierikos was promoted three more times to the First National, but never managed to establish itself again in the 1st Division.

The biggest distinction of the club was to finish 3 times in the 5th place of the championship, but also the Cup final against Olympiakos in 1963 where it was defeated 3–0.

Pierikos also played in the Greek Cup Semi-Final this season where was suffered a 3–1 defeat by AEK Athens FC.
