Samae Dam (Thai: แสมดำ, pronounced [sā.mɛ̌ː dām]) is a khwaeng (sub-district) of Bang Khun Thian District, Bangkok.
Samae Dam is an area where Mon people lived since the reign of King Nangklao (Rama III) during the early Rattanakosin.
The scenes of the burning of mangrove charcoal were mentioned in Nirat Mueang Phet, a travelogue of the renowned poet Sunthon Phu in 1854.
