Sher-Dor Madrasa

The Sher-Dor Madrasa (Uzbek:Sherdor madrasasi, meaning “with lions”) is a 17th-century madrasa (Islamic school) in the historic center of Samarkand, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Uzbekistan.

[1] Together with the Ulug Begue and Tillakori madrassas, it forms the monumental ensemble of Registan, the ancient heart of the city.

[2] The building is considered one of the main tourist attractions in Samarkand and is known for its profuse tile decoration and polychrome plant-themed paintings.
