Shigar District (Urdu: ضلع شِگر) is a district in Gilgit-Baltistan area of Pakistan in the disputed Kashmir region.
[1] It is home to the world's second highest peak, K2, also known as Chhogori and Mount Godwin-Austen.
Shigar District was established in 2015, prior to which it had been part of the Skardu District.
[2] The headquarters of the Shigar District is the town of Shigar, which is 30 kilometres (19 mi) from the city of Skardu.
