Smoot is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lincoln County, Wyoming, United States.

Smoot is located in the Star Valley Wyoming eight miles south of Afton.

[4] According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.7 square miles (4.5 km2), all of it land.

[5] Salt River (Wyoming) Pass (WY-89) rises out of Smoot to the south, reaching a maximum elevation of 7630 feet (2326 m).

Public education in the community of Smoot is provided by Lincoln County School District #2.
