It was built originally in 1905 as a Congregational Church but was partly demolished at some point.
The church continued to be in use until the 1990s when in 1991, it was declared redundant and was later converted for office and storage space for a Peugeot dealership as part of the Abacus Motors Group.
[4] Both the garage and showroom of the former dealership were demolished and the surrounding extensions to the church.
The church is still in situ due to it being located in a conservation area[5] and is awaiting conversion for residential purposes along with the surrounding site of the former dealership and garage.
