South Gate Ridge is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sarasota County, Florida, United States.

It is part of the North Port–Bradenton–Sarasota, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.

[5] As of the 2020 United States census,[7] South Gate Ridge had a population of 6,024 with 2,438 households.

There were 327 veterans living in the CDP and 17.3% of the population were foreign born persons.

By race, the population was split with 81.5% white, 4.1% black or African American, 1.4% were Asian, 9.9% were two or more races, and 17.0% were Hispanic or Latino.
