Sparta is a town in Livingston County, New York, United States.

Sparta also received territory from other towns: Dansville (in Steuben County) (1822) and Groveland (1856).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total of 27.7 square miles (72 km2), all land.

New York State Route 63 is a north-south highway in the western part of the town.
