[1][2][3][4][5] Ho You Fat was born in French Guiana, where the his family business controls shipping at the port of Cayenne; his paternal grandfather was an immigrant from China.
[7] He enjoyed his best season in 2018–19, when he averaged 15.6 points per game for ALM Évreux Basket in LNB Pro B.
[8] In June 2024, Fat signed with Haukar of the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild karla.
[9] With the Haukar battling relegation, he was released by the club on 17 December 2024 in a major roster overhaul as the team entered the Christmas break.
