Stephen R. Clark

Throughout his career, Clark represented clients pro bono and volunteered for numerous civic and charitable organizations.

He was nominated to the seat vacated by Judge Carol E. Jackson, who retired on August 31, 2017.

[4] Democrats opposed his nomination due to Clark's positions on abortion and LGBT rights.

[5] On January 3, 2019, his nomination was returned to the President under Rule XXXI, Paragraph 6 of the United States Senate.

On January 23, 2019, President Trump announced his intent to renominate Clark for a federal judgeship.
