Straža pri Raki

Straža pri Raki (pronounced [ˈstɾaːʒa pɾi ˈɾaːki]; in older sources also Straza pri Svetem Valentinu,[2] German: Straža bei Sankt Valentin[2]) is a settlement east of Raka in the Municipality of Krško in eastern Slovenia.

It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.

The name was changed on the basis of the 1948 Law on Names of Settlements and Designations of Squares, Streets, and Buildings as part of efforts by Slovenia's postwar communist government to remove religious elements from toponyms.

[4][5][6] In the past the German name was Straža bei Sankt Valentin.

[2] The local church is dedicated to Saint Valentine and belongs to the Parish of Leskovec pri Krškem.
