T. Mayer (crater)

[1] Located to the west is the Oceanus Procellarum, and to the south is Mare Insularum.

This crater is embedded within a region of rugged ridges and these are attached to the exterior of the rim, most notably along the east and northeast.

The rim is generally circular with the bowl-shaped T. Mayer A attached to the exterior along the east-southeast.

[citation needed] Due south of T. Mayer is a cluster of lunar domes, some of which have tiny craterlets at the summits.

By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater midpoint that is closest to T. Mayer.
