Tanya Thornton Shewell

Tanya Thornton Shewell (born March 9, 1944) is an American politician and former member of the Maryland House of Delegates.

Tanya Shewell replaced Carmen Amedori when she was appointed to the Parole Commission by Governor Bob Ehrlich in 2004.

Shewell represents District 5A, which covers Carroll County, MD.

She graduated in 1970 from Towson State University, summa cum laude, with a B.S.

She worked for the State Department of Education at the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation from 1970 to 1977, and the Carroll Lutheran Health Care Center from 1981 to 1983.
