Tomasz Dietl

Tomasz Dietl (born 1 October 1950) is a Polish physicist; professor and head of the Laboratory for Cryogenic and Spintronic Research at the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences; and professor of the Institute of Theoretical Physics at the University of Warsaw.

[3] He graduated from the University of Warsaw at the age of 23 (master's degree) and subsequently obtained his PhD from the Polish Academy of Sciences in 1977.

[4] Since then he has been working in the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

In 2009, he became a member of the Polish Academy of Learning (PAU) as well as the Warsaw Scientific Society (WTN).

[6] In 2006, he received Poland's top science award, the Prize of the Foundation for Polish Science, "for developing the theory, confirmed in recent years, of diluted ferromagnetic semiconductors, and for demonstrating new methods in controlling magnetization.
