Of the rest of the land, 1.4% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (18.7%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).
It consists of the linear village of Valchava above Santa Maria Val Müstair and the alpine settlements of Chaunt and Valpaschun.
