The retired government official Purshottama Rao (Daita Gopalam) borrows money to get his eldest daughter Kalindi (Bhanumathi) married to an old-man Lingaraju (Balijepalli).
Lingaraju refuses to return the dowry money.
Purshottama's second daughter Kamala (Pushpavalli) agrees to marry him.
