It is located approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) southwest of the city of Odesa and 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from the Black Sea coast.
[2] Population: 14,012 (2022 estimate)[1] It was founded in 1803 by Odesa governor Armand-Emmanuel du Plessis de Richelieu who installed German colons (Black Sea Germans).
The place was named Gross Liebenthal and had two lutheran churches.
On this day, a new law entered into force which abolished this status, and Velykodolynske became a rural settlement.
Highway H33 connecting Odesa with Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi runs through the settlement.
