Weinek is a small lunar impact crater that is located in the southeastern part of the Moon, to the south of the Mare Nectaris.
The outer rim of this formation has undergone some wear, but the general circular form is still distinct.
The inner walls are generally even and slope directly down to the interior floor, with the exception of some irregularity to the south-southeast.
The interior floor is marked only by a small craterlet to the southeast of the midpoint.
By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater midpoint that is closest to Weinek.
