West Portsmouth is a census-designated place (CDP) in Scioto County, Ohio, United States.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.8 square miles (12 km2), all land.

As of the census[3] of 2000, there were 3,458 people, 1,368 households, and 995 families residing in the CDP.
