[1] The original Wild Goose Brewery was established by Washington area lawyers Ted Garrish and John Byington, businesswoman Nancy Davis and journalist (and former speechwriter) Rich Klein in 1989 (36 years ago) (1989).
[2] The site of the brewery was in a section of the old Phillips packing plant,[3] an abandoned oyster cannery facility in Cambridge, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Originally conceived as a brewpub, the founders were forced to bottle Wild Goose due to Prohibition Era laws (that were still then in effect) that restricted brewing and sale of alcohol on the same premises.
[7] Logan Shaw sold the Wild Goose Brands to Tim Miller and the National Brewing Company in late 2015.
The Wild Goose India Pale Ale was awarded the Gold Medal at the 2008 World Beer Cup.
