He previously served as the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in 2022.
Stein played college football at the University of Louisville as a quarterback from 2008 to 2012.
After his playing career concluded, Stein stayed at Louisville as a graduate assistant and quality control coach from 2013 to 2014.
[3] On December 20, 2019, Stein was named the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach at UTSA.
