William Tyree

Sir Alfred William Tyree OBE (4 November 1921 – 25 October 2013) was an Australian engineer and businessman, recognized for his impact on the Australian engineering, manufacturing and power industries.

[citation needed] He obtained a Diploma of Electrical Engineering at Sydney Technical College.

Tyree left manufacturing and pursued philanthropic and humanitarian interests.

In a six-decade career, he led the way in Australian electrical transformer manufacture and created the modern energy landscape.
