Film director Georg and costume designer Olga, his ex-girlfriend, want to shoot a comedy on a campsite in Gdansk during the UEFA Euro 2012.
But despite these setbacks and difficult circumstances - the Polish actors hardly speak any German or English and it is raining constantly at times - Georg wants to realize his feature film and tries to make the best of the situation with constantly changing actors and a dwindling team.
The director, who orders his demotivated team around, is determined to realize his artistic vision of a World Cup comedy.
Meanwhile, the disappointed Olga seeks her fortune in Poland and ends up in the arms of the set runner.
In fact, director Franz Müller originally wanted to shoot a football comedy about the "trashy relatives" ("Assi-Verwandschaft") of German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer during the 2012 European Football Championship in Poland.
