In April 2017, he was appointed deputy secretary-general of Jilin Provincial People's Government, and held that office until July 2017.
[citation needed] On 15 April 2019, he was put under investigation for alleged "serious violations of discipline and laws" by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), the CCP's internal disciplinary body, and the National Supervisory Commission, the highest anti-corruption agency of China.
