At the 2020 Dutch Championships, Bouma won the gold medal in the 400 metres with a time of 53.87 s.[3][4] Bouma competed at the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade in March 2022.

She ran in the heats of the women's 4 × 400 m relay, and the Netherlands won the silver medal in the final.
