Aurel Voss

Aurel Voss (7 December 1845 – 19 April 1931) was a German mathematician, best known today for his contributions to geometry and mechanics.

[1][2] He served as president of the German Mathematical Society for the 1898 term.

In 1880, Voss published a version of the contracted Bianchi identities.

He received a PhD from the University of Göttingen the following year.

He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Engineering Sciences by TH Munich in 1915.
