Bessonovsky District (Russian: Бессо́новский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Penza Oblast, Russia.
It is located in the center of the oblast.
The area of the district is 1,249 square kilometers (482 sq mi).

[7] The population of Bessonovka accounts for 25.2% of the district's total population.
